Methee Duangron

This was my first time visiting Nepal, and it was such a wonderful trip! It was completely different from any other country I have ever visited.

Kathmandu, the capital city, sits beautifully among the valley, filled with many stunning Hindu and Buddhist temples. I tried the local liquor—it was very strong, but I really liked it! I also thoroughly enjoyed the local food, especially dishes with buff (water buffalo) and beans.

On the first day of my trek, I saw so many mountains. The views were good, even though the sky was a bit foggy, and it was very cold at night. When I woke up early the next morning—OMG—the sky had completely cleared! There was a massive snow-capped mountain right in front of me, which was absolutely awesome.

We kept trekking until we reached the lodge that serves as the base for the trek to Poon Hill. The view of the snow-capped mountains directly from my room was perfect! In the morning, we trekked up to Poon Hill and enjoyed watching the first rays of sunlight shine over the Annapurna range. I was completely blown away.

After Poon Hill, we trekked to Ghandruk, passing through incredible mountain landscapes. When I looked back from the top of the trail, I couldn’t believe how far we had walked past those massive peaks!

My guide, Sudip, took such good care of me and became a great friend. Thank you for a fabulous trip in Nepal! I am definitely looking forward to returning, and my next trek will surely be Annapurna Base Camp (ABC)!
