Bhairab Kunda is situated in the Sindhupalchok district and is considered the holy site of both Hindu and Buddhist people. Bhairab Kunda trek is another attractive alternative trek trip in Nepal that offers many things of natural, cultural, and religious importance. Although, the trekking route is less crowded as it is a newly opened trek destination. Hindu people around the country on August full moon day gather in Bhairab Kunda to take a holy bath with the belief of ultimate deliverance from their past sins. Besides this religious importance, Bhairab Kunda is also famous for its beautiful natural scenario. From Bhairav Kunda magnificent views of white-capped peaks such as Jugal, Lenpo Gang, Dorje Lakpa, Madiya, Phurbi Chhyachu, and Guangcheng can be seen. Bhairab Kunda trekking route goes through the villages of diverse ethnic people such as Newar, Gurung, Brahmin, Chhetri, and Sherpa, beautiful green hills, dense forests, and beautiful landscapes. Trekkers can experience and know the diverse culture and way of life of different ethnic people by visiting their typical villages. Bhairab Kunda trekking route is one of the old trade routes between Nepal and Tibet. There are many typical Buddhist villages, Gompas, shortens, and Sherpa houses. The unusual climatic and geographical mixture makes this area very rich in terms of nature and culture. This trek starts from Jalbire after 5/ 6 hrs bus drive from Kathmandu.

From the Jalbire trek reach Bhairab Kunda after the romantic journey of naturally beautiful and culturally important places such as Chanute, Khani Gaun, and Jorpati. After collecting the exciting natural and important religious experiences in the Bhairab Kunda trek return to Kathmandu via Sherpa Gaun and Larcha. As a great Hindu festival held in Bhairab Kunda every year on August full moon day if the trekkers manage to trek during that time they can see and learn about the August full moon day festival of Hindu people.

Details Itinerary

Day01: Arrival in Kathmandu

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu at TIA, a representative from A One Nepal Trek will warmly welcome you to Nepal. She/he will guide you towards the hotel room and the day can be either rest or some sightseeing day in Kathmandu. The night will be at the hotel by discussing the tour and enjoying the delicious dinner. (Service include: Airport pickup+ Hotel with bb plan)

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Jalbire.

Early morning, we will have our breakfast at the hotel of Kathmandu and will catch the vehicle to Jalbire. We will drive for about 3 hours to reach Balephi. From Balephi, we can trek for about 4 hours in rough road conditions. The drive will be a scenic drive and nevertheless the fascinating one. The night will be at Jalbire, a Newar (an ethnic group) village.(Service include:Bus drive+ Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Hotel/Camp)

Day 03: Jalbire to Chanute.

From Jalbire, we will move towards the Chanute. The trekking goes for about 4 to 5 hours straight to the Chanute. The route passes through the magnificent waterfalls and through the traditional Tamang village. The trek will end after reaching the campsite of Chanute from where we can get the glorious view of mountains all around us.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 04: Chanute to Khani Gaun.

From Chanute, we will trek towards the beautiful Newari village of Khani Gaun. The trekking region goes for about 6 hours through the steep way which will be proven challenging later at the end of the day. It has its own historical importance while the time of unifying time of Nepal.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 05: Khani Gaun to Forest camp.

After spending a night with the Newars of Khani Gaun, we will move towards the next destination following the forest of rhododendron which is enriched with beautiful trees birds, and some wild animals. The night will be at the camping site in the forest. The trekking goes for about 5 to 6 hours.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 06: Forest Camp to Pati.

From forest camp, we will march towards the Pati. After walking for about 4 to 5 hours through the steep trail through the forest of rhododendron, we will reach Pati at an altitude of 3,950m. The night will be interesting at Pati, which is specially made for the Pilgrimages.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 07: Pati to Bhairab Kunda

From Pati, we will hike for about 1 hour to reach the Bhairab Kunda at the altitude of 4150m. The trekking will be interesting anyway. We can see a small temple of Shiva near the lake. Many people from whole around the country used to visit this place on a special occasion to take the holy bath at the lake.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 08: Bhairab Kunda to Sherpa Village.

Early morning, we will trek towards the top of Bhairab Kunda to view the most panoramic view of sunrise. After viewing the sunrise, we will return back to Bhairab Kunda and will trek further down to the Sherpa village. The descending process goes for about 6 hours long to the height of 2,500m.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 09: Sherpa village to Larcha.

From the beautiful Sherpa village, we will trek further down to the Larcha. We will follow the route of the Bhote Koshi River. The trekking goes for about 3 to 4hours through the bank of Bhote Koshi River. The night will be at Larcha.(Service include:Guide+Porter+Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge/Camp)

Day 10: Larcha to Kathmandu.

From Larcha, we will take a return drive to Kathmandu. The drive goes for about 6 to 7 hours. The drive to Kathmandu from Larcha is a scenic drive that will enable us to view the most panoramic view of the surrounding. The night will be interesting at the hotel in Kathmandu. Day 11: Farewell.

After having a relaxing night at Kathmandu, finally, the day of returning back to our home country and busy schedule has come with the ending of our glittering tour over to the highlands of Nepal. A One Nepal Trek will organize a small farewell program at the airport and will help with any inconvenience that may arise during the departure. We wish for your better journey ahead. Trek highlights:

One of the remote medium easy trek of Nepal. With some major peaks [Mt Ganesh Himal 7,234m, Mt Annapurna I 8,091m, Mt Manaslu 8,163m, Mt Langtang 7,219m] and several beautiful peaks. Heavy colorful forest with a variety of flora & fauna. Charming mingle society of people with the unique culture, religion, and seasonal harvesting. Clean running humming waterfalls and streams.

Safety – Health- facility:

Our first goal is “first safety” for all of our clients and staff. We have a smartly experienced friendly and knowledgeable workers team. All they are well trained and must of they are license holder Guides. We arrange first aid. Also, the area has a health post every 2 days, and the main hospital is not farther than the maximum of 5 hrs, from any part. We can use a quick drive on the rough road, carried by the people, take a horse ride, and arrange the Helicopter at our needed as per the emergency encase. The physical walk is 6 hours on average per day with a mini bag with your valued things average 2-5 kg. but 2 days is shorter.

Your Personal Travel Insurance:

We highly advised you to make your travel insurance during the Nepal trip from your own country. It is a condition upon joining any of our trips that all clients be insured for comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). we don’t arrange or sell insurance.

Tent Camp/Local lodge during the Trek:

All accommodations for Trek are on a twin-sharing home-stay basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on the standard of hygiene, standard, and clean of tourist standard available. We will fix clients’ tent, staff tent, kitchen tent, and Toilet during the trek is more comfortable than home-stay trek.

Meals and Water:

During our Trek, we will have served the food from our tent camp prepared by our well-trained cook. we can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisines, as well as all types of international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and Indian.), are as per local supplement. Our well-trained cook basically attention to clean, hygienic, fresh and nice testy foods. We can even enjoy hot chocolates, a variety of bread, a variety of drinks, and snacks. You could have been able to buy bottled water from every settlement. Even we would like to support you to pay for local purifying water cheaper with that’s help to controlled plastic pollution. Also, boiled water or running fresh water with your peals or filtering is much recommended. We used Iodine water for a wash, drinking, and cooking.

What to bring with you:

Raincoat, bag cover, round sun hat. Half paint for rain, waterproof walking boot, Suntan lotion, sunglass, light waterproof gore tax set, a pair of sleepers, some t-shirt, If you have your private light sleeping bag/If Not we will provide, walking stick, your regular drug and necessary you things.

Environmental sensitive:

The Jungle Himal region is stunningly beautiful but equally fragile. Future generations have just as much of a right to appreciate it as we do. Hence, the tourism industry has an obligation to protect and preserve it. We are considering a ‘zero impact’ policy on the natural environment and the traditional communities that live in the traveled places. We enforce a number of dos and don’ts. We also work alongside “KEEP” in order to maintain our environmental concerns.

Booking Policy:

Confirm your trip at least two months before, with 35% of the payment and a copy of your passport. One group leader or agent will be free of service charge above 12 of paying the person in a group. (tax, flight, and monuments fee is not free)
