Sonam Losar Tour, Lho means age or year & Sar means New. In detail Lhosar means beginning of new era or New Year. There are many ethnic groups of people in every region. Most of the ethnic groups have their own Lhosar. All of them celebrate their Lhosar in their own place and style. Sonam Lhosar is the Lhosar of Tamang community people. In 2015 it will be 2849th celebration of sonam Lhosar by tamang people. It falls on the very next day after no moon day or new moon day on the month of Magh (Magh Shukla Pratipada) as per Nepali Calendar. Tamang people count year with association of symbols of twelve different. It starts with rat and lastly ends at Boar.
Sonam Losar Tour maximum tamang community people gather in a place and they do a program associated by Nepal government. In Kathmandu it is held in Tudikhel big ground near Bhadrakali. We can see people dancing together by making their own group in their own traditional songs. They wear their own ethnic group culture dress. In morning they worship Lord Buddha. And whole day they will be busy with gathering. Special food item named Khapse is made by them and they distribute to others. This food is very special. It is specially made for Sonam Lhosar. In this day tamang community people forget all the sorrows and pain. They just are happy by dancing and playing with each other. In this way Tamang people celebrated their Sonam Lhosar in every region of Nepal. Having live performance of celebrating with local people will be the most interesting than in just reading in book. el viaje que nos organizaste por Nepal fue simplemente espectacular. Tu organización fue perfecta, tanto de los hoteles como en los pueblos que fuimos parando durante la vuelta al Annapurna. Tu conocimiento del lugar nos facilitó mucho las cosas, tu asesoramiento con respecto a la altura, que hizo que ninguno del grupo tuviera problemas. Tu calidez y simpatía hizo que dejáramos a un verdadero amigo en Nepal.
