Details Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival to Kathmandu.

Upon your arrival at Kathmandu, We will personally be at the airport to pick you up on time. You will be transferred to your hotel as per the prior booking agreed between us. After refreshing up with some welcome drinks, you can go to your room, relax for some time and then stroll the night and get enchanted by Kathmandu, visit the local market and buy some necessary things which you may need. On returning back to your hotel, you will be treated to a “Traditional Nepali dinner” and later you will be oriented on your upcoming journey. Enjoy your first night in the ancient city of temples & cows, probably the most in the world.

Day 02: Kathmandu to Lukla and trek to Phakding.

After enjoying your b/fast at the hotel, we next head down to the domestic airport for your flight to Lukla. The flight from Kathmandu to Lukla takes some 30 minutes and ends in an exciting landing on a unique mountain airstrip that runs uphill. Lukla, situated at an altitude of 2,850 m, is the gateway as well as the trailhead for all treks in the Everest region. After meeting the support crew, we head up the Dudh Koshi valley on a well-trodden trail to our first campsite near a river at Phakding.

Day 03: Phakding to Namche Bazaar.

From Phakding, we cross and re-cross the river on high suspension bridges till we reach Monjo. Beyond Monjo lies the Sagarmatha (Everest) National Park, which was established by the Government of Nepal in 1976 in order to protect and preserve the fragile mountain ecosystem. The park, spread over an area of 1,148 sq km, includes the upper catchments of the Dudh Koshi and Bhote Koshi rivers, and is largely composed of rugged terrain, gorges and giant hulks of rock and snow, including Mt. Everest (8,848 m), the tallest of them all. A steep hike from Monjo takes us to Namche.

If the weather is clear, we get the first glimpse of Mt Everest. Namche is the main trading center in the Khumbu region and is a meeting place not only for the Nepali traders from the lowlands and the Tibetan traders who cross the glaciated Nangpa La in the north, but also for trekkers and expedition members either going up to rendezvous with Mt. Everest and its minions or those on their return lap. We camp near Namche Bazaar.

Day 04: Namche Bazaar to Dole.4110m.

From Namche Bazaar, the trail goes steeply towards Kyangjuma village from where we can have a splendid view of mountains ranges all around us. We will have our lunch on the way to Dole. The admirable views around the trail will surely mesmerize us. The way to Dole goes with the combination of Mountain Views along with some beautiful scenes of waterfalls and forests. We crash out the night at Dole.

Day 05: Dole to Machherma

From Dole, at first, the path goes steeply to the Lhabarma at 4220m to Luza at 4360m. The trail offers us many glittering views of Cho Oyu, Kantega, and Thamserku. While trekking at this place we need to acclimatize ourselves with the increasing altitudes. After an incredible walk of about 4 to 5 hours, we will be able to reach Machherma at 4410m, have dinner and prepare for the night.

Day 06: Machherma to Gokyo.

Early morning, we will trek towards Gokyo from Machherma. The trail descends to the river and then begins to climb over to Ngozumpa glacier. Viewing the panoramic scenery around the region, we will move forward through the main trail. We can explore the lakes of Gokyo if we have some spare leisure time. The night will be spectacular at Gokyo at 4794m where we spend our night.

Day 07: Gokyo rest day.

Today can be taken as the rest day to chill out. But we will explore the area later in the day. We will climb up to the peak of Gokyo from where we will get splendid views of other mountain ranges all around us. After viewing some incredible sights from the peak, we will descend back to Gokyo where we will spend the night again.

Day 08: Gokyo to Na

From Gokyo, we will hike towards the Gokyo Ri to the altitude of 5496m from where we can get some fantastic views of mountain ranges including the highest peak of the world. A hike for about 2 hours will take us to the top. We will return back to Gokyo and trek towards Na the same day. The night will be at Na at 4390m.

Day 09: Na to Phortse.

From Na, we will descend towards Phortse village following the way opposite to Dudh Koshi River. The path is regarded easy as it goes flatter for some while. Then a steep down track through the village will lead us towards Phortse. Phortse is a magnificent village situated in the shadows of huge mountains at 3542m. this is an ideal place to bunk out for the night.(Service includes: Guide+Porter, +Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge)

Day 10: Trek to Dingboche

From Phortse, early morning, we will move towards the Dingboche following the path viewing some spectacular views of mountain ranges of the Khumbu region. We can spend a day or two days at Dingboche. But as A One Nepal Trek suggests we will continue on our way without resting the day at Dingboche at 4336m.

Day 11: Dingboche to Lobuche

Beyond Dingboche, we trek up the steep difficult moraine of the Khumbu Glacier. We find our path through the boulder-strewn slope as we ascend Chupki Lhara, an uncanny ridge top with dramatic mountains views. An early start is necessary today, as we have to cross Cho La and make the long descent to Lobuche. As we hike up the valley, we cross a ridge and an old lateral moraine, before beginning the rocky scramble to the pass. From the pass, there are excellent views, across to the famous Rolwaling Valley in the west and Ama Dablam to the south-east. The descent from the pass involves the crossing of a small glacier [often snow covered] which is fairly straightforward. There are more excellent views of Ama Dablam and the forbidding north face of Cholatse as we descend to the pastures below. The way to Lobuche contours the grassy slopes above a lake, the Tshola Tsho, to join up with the main Everest trail from Pheriche and Tengboche. The trail flattens out and follows the valley on the west side of the Khumbu Glacier as we plod on to Lobuche for the night.

Day 12: Lobuche to Kalapathar and Gorakshep.

We will start the day a bit earlier than before as we need to hike a long distance. At first, we will start the trek towards the west side going steeper before reaching Gorakshep. Throughout the day, we will see spectacular views of great ranges of mountains all around us. After spending some time at Gorakshep, we will move towards Kalapathar to the height of 5600m from where the crystal clear views of Mount Everest can be seen. We will spend the cold night at Gorakshep in our tented camps.(Service includes: Guide+Porter, +Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+Local lodge)

Day 13: Gorakshep to Everest base camp and to Lobuche

For the trek to Everest Base Camp, a very early start is required. It takes several hours on a trail across the Khumbu Glacier which weaves its way along translucent ice pinnacles and past seemingly bottomless crevasses. At Base Camp, there will hopefully be an expedition ‘in residence’ and there are great views up into the Khumbu Icefall where there is often some climbing activity. On the return leg, we can take a higher route to get a spectacular view of the Khumbu icefall and the route to the south Col. We then return to Gorakshep. We will spend approximately 4 and half hours trekking up to Everest Base Camp and back to Gorakshep. The trek is on a glacier and snow-capped rocks. We can also see many small frozen lakes around the Everest Base Camp area. We then return to Lobuche for our stay overnight at a lodge.

 Day 14: Lobuche to Chhukung.

After breakfast, we trek via Khumbu Glacier to Kongma La Base Camp at (5,000m/16,404ft). The ascent to Kongma La pass is the most difficult part of our trek today. In the Kongma La, we see cairn wrapped in prayer flags to mark the pass. Then we descend gradually to Imja Khola valley, followed by another descent to Chhukung, a small summer settlement. After reaching Chhukung we will also check our equipment in order to get ready for our ultimate climb. Overnight in Chhukung

Note: If we do not want to undertake the Kongma La pass, we can follow another route via Dingboche to Chhukung instead. Meals included: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner with tea/coffee.

Day 15: Chhukung to Island peak base camp.

The trek to Island Peak Base Camp is on a fairly steep trail. First, we climb south then turn east to the main line of the valley. We then walk on a winding path below the southern flank of the moraine from the Lhotse Glacier. Next, we continue walking on a pleasant trail along a streamside. The route to the Amphu Labtsa lies to the southeast. A crisscross route through the Imja and Lhotse glacier moraines leads to a wide valley flanking the SW side of Island Peak. Overnight at Island Peak Base Camp –

Included meals: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner with tea/coffee and Camping. 

Day 16: Island Peak base camp to High camp.

This is a pretty cool day; we begin our pre-climb training today after breakfast. Our guides will provide training on peak climbing techniques and the proper ways of using climbing gears such as the ice axe, climbing boots, and crampons, harness, ascender, etc. The training will also include using ropes to go up and down. Although it is not mandatory to have prior training for Island Peak Climbing, we strongly believe that some training experience will boost your confidence and climbing skills to increase the chances of scaling the summit as well as to fully enjoy the experience. We can spend the rest of the day hiking to high camp and back or resting for the next day’s climb. Overnight at the base camp – Included meals: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner with tea/coffee and Camping.

Day 17: High camp to summit and back to Chhukung.

Crossing the gully above the camp the trail makes a climb for another hour to a narrow ridge, leading on to the glacier. Here it is time to rope-up and put on our crampons as the most interesting part of the climb begins with the glacier crossing. This is followed by the steep snow slope that leads onto the summit ridge. This ridge is wonderfully fresh and on reaching the summit we have jaw-dropping close-up views of the south face of Lhotse looming over us whilst in the other direction, there are more theatrical mountain views that stop our breath for a few seconds as we gasp at the surrounding beauty that envelops us, perhaps, this will be a moment we will never ever forget for the rest of our lives, because there is no other place on earth like this, it has a beauty of its own, as the other peaks of Nepal all have their exclusive own identities. We descend along the same route, down to base camp and finally to Chhukung for the night. We celebrate our successful Island Peak climb. This is an achievement we need to truly enjoy…anything could have happened. Maybe we celebrate with a Black Forest cake and some strong coffee – Included meals: 1 breakfast, 1 lunch, and 1 dinner with tea/coffee

Day 18: Chhukung to Namche Bazaar.

After achieving our dream project, we will trek following the path to Imja Khola which will later join Dudh Khola. We will have an easy trek to Chhukung for about 8 to 9 hours. The returning journey will be fantastic as we have a sense of pleasure in our heart after being successful in our venture without any incidents. We will enjoy the breeze of the mountains while returning to Namche Bazaar. We will have a blissful resting night at Namche Bazaar.

Day 19: Namche Bazaar to Lukla – our last day on these lovely mountains

Today is our last day of trekking. It’s only a short walk along the valley before we make the final climb up to the airstrip at Lukla. We’ll have lunch at our lodge and the afternoon is free for you to wander around, relax or perhaps have a hot shower! In the evening, we’ll have a farewell dinner party followed by a few celebratory drinks. We can taste some ‘Chhang’ {mountain beer brewed from fermented rice} and do a jig to some Sherpa dance steps, and enjoy with the crew whom we’ve come to know so well over the weeks being together. It’s a time to make merry after the success of our climb. We then hit the sack for some blissful rest after a truly great venture that was successful.

 Day 20: Lukla to Kathmandu.

After an early breakfast, hoping for good weather, we board our 35 minutes flight for Kathmandu. We bid farewell to these wonderful mountains that sheltered us all of these days as our journey in Nepal concludes today on a merry note! There is not much except send a few emails home telling the folks about the dream holidays you enjoyed. If you have more time you can do some shopping or sightseeing. Day 21: Farewell program – Adios Amigos!

Approximately 3 hours before the scheduled flight a representative from A One Nepal Trek will take you to the airport. On your way home you’ll have plenty of time to organize your plans for the next adventure in the wonderful Himalayan country of Nepal. Thank you for visiting Nepal…we sure hope to meet you again someday!!!

Safety Health- facility:

Our first goal is first safety for all of our clients and staff. We have smartly experienced friendly and knowledgeable workers team. All they are well trained and must of they are license holder Guides. We arrange first aid. Also, the area has the health post on every 2 days, and the main hospital is not farther than maximum 5 hrs, from any part. We can use a quick drive on the rough road, carried by the people, take a horse ride, and arrange the Helicopter at our needed as per the emergency encase. The physical walk is 6 hours average per day with a mini bag with your valued things average 2-5 kg. but 2 days is shorter.

Your Personal Travel Insurance:

We highly advised you to make your travel insurance during Nepal trip from your own country. It is a condition upon joining any of our trips that all clients be insured for comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs).we don’t arrange or sell insurance.

Climbing Guide Insurance and facility:

Due to risk and liabilities, Nepal Government acted Guide equipment fee USD 350, Insurance USD 15,000 over, medical insurance USD 4,000, Plus his regular facility are salary, lodging, and food. Also reasonable staff insurance up to USD 5,000 per Staffs and facility.

Climbing Permit fee:

There are two categories of Peaks on Nepal mountaineer list. The fee are fixed for both categories of Peaks.The climbing permit fee USD 250 Per Person. Click here!

Camp/Tea house Local lodge during the Trek:

All accommodations for Trek are on twin sharing basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on the standard of hygiene, standard and clean of tourist standard available. There are mostly shame styles of accommodations during our trekking. And 3 Nights camping. All the lodging and meal cost has controlled by management community at in the area. We will provide all food and beverage from kitchen camp during the camp.There will be well-trained cook, cook helper. We used boiled -purifier water for all members.

Meals and Water:

During our Trek, we can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisines, as well as all types of international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and Indian.), are from the menu as per local supplement. Lodge has well-trained cook basically attention for clean, hygienic, fresh and nice testy foods. We can even enjoy hot chocolates, the variety of bread, the variety of drinks, and snacks. You could have able to buy Bottled water from every settlement. Even we would like to support you to pay for local purifying water cheaper with that’s help to controlled plastic pollution. Also, the boiled water or running fresh water with your peals or filtering is much recommended.

What to bring with you:

Raincoat, warm jacket and inner dress, bag cover, round sun hat. Half paint for rain, waterproof walking boot, Suntan lotion, sun glass,hand glove,warm cap, light waterproof gore tax set, a pair of sleepers, some t-shirt, If you have your private light sleeping bag/If Not we will provide, walking stick, your regular drug and necessary you things, harness, Personal climbing gear, crampons, climbing boots.

Environmental sensitive:

The Khumbu region is stunningly beautiful but equally fragile. Future generations have just as much of a right to appreciate it as we do. Hence, the tourism industry has an obligation to protect and preserve it. We are considering a zero impact policy on the natural environment and the traditional communities that live in the traveled places. We enforce a number of does and don’ts. We also work alongside KEEP in order to maintain our environmental concerns.
