Detailed Itinerary

Day 01: Arrival in Kathmandu (1,400 m / 4,593 ft)

Upon your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in Kathmandu, a representative from A One Nepal Trek will warmly greet you at the terminal and transfer you to your hotel. Take the rest of the day to relax, recover from your flight, or explore the vibrant streets of Thamel.

Day 02: Drive from Kathmandu to Besisahar & Chame (2,670 m / 8,760 ft)

• Drive Duration: Approx. 9 to 10 hours Leaving Kathmandu early in the morning, we embark on a scenic drive along the Trishuli and Marsyangdi rivers toward Besisahar. We continue deep into the Himalayan foothills until reaching Chame, the administrative center of the Manang district.

Day 03: Trek from Chame to Pisang (3,200 m / 10,498 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours Our trekking journey begins along the banks of the Marsyangdi River, passing through lush pine forests and dramatic rock formations like Paungda Danda. Upon arriving in Pisang, we can explore local ancient Buddhist monasteries and enjoy majestic alpine views.

Day 04: Trek from Pisang to Manang via Ghyaru & Ngawal (3,540 m / 11,614 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 6 to 7 hours We take the upper, scenic trail passing through the traditional stone villages of Ghyaru (3,670 m) and Ngawal (3,690 m). This elevated route offers sweeping views of Annapurna II, III, IV, Gangapurna, Tilicho Peak, and Pisang Peak before descending into the high-altitude hub of Manang Valley.

Day 05: Acclimatization & Exploration Day in Manang (3,540 m / 11,614 ft)

Acclimatization is essential before ascending to higher altitudes. Today is an active rest day—we take a short morning hike to Gangapurna Lake, Chongkor Gompa, or local viewpoints to follow the “climbs high, sleep low” strategy. You can also attend the daily high-altitude safety briefing organized by the Himalayan Rescue Association (HRA).

Day 06: Trek from Manang to Ledar / Yak Kharka (4,200 m / 13,779 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 4 to 5 hours Leaving Manang Valley, the trail gradually climbs above the tree line through alpine meadows and shrublands. We pass through Yak Kharka and cross small mountain streams before arriving at Ledar. Keep an eye out for grazing yaks and Himalayan blue sheep along the slopes.

Day 07: Trek from Ledar to Thorong Phedi or High Camp (4,450 m / 14,600 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 4 to 5 hours We trace the riverbanks of the Jarsang Khola before steadily ascending toward Thorong Phedi. Depending on timing and conditions, we may extend the hike by 1.5 hours up to High Camp (4,800 m) to shorten the climb for pass day tomorrow.

Day 08: Cross Thorong La Pass (5,416 m) to Muktinath (3,800 m / 12,467 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 8 to 9 hours Starting before dawn, we begin the steep push toward Thorong La Pass (5,416 m)—the highest point of our trek. After celebrating at the prayer-flag-draped summit with panoramic mountain vistas, we descend to the sacred pilgrimage site of Muktinath.

Day 09: Trek / Drive from Muktinath to Jomsom & Marpha (2,670 m / 8,760 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 5 to 6 hours In the morning, we visit the iconic Muktinath Temple. We then descend through the windy Kali Gandaki Valley toward Jomsom and continue onward to Marpha—a charming village renowned for its apple orchards and local apple brandy.

Day 10: Trek from Marpha to Ghasa (2,010 m / 6,594 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 6 hours Following the bank of the Kali Gandaki River, the trail descends into lush valley landscapes. We walk past apple orchards and through traditional Thakali settlements, enjoying perspectives of Mt. Dhaulagiri (8,167 m) and Mt. Annapurna I (8,091 m) towering above the world’s deepest gorge.

Day 11: Trek from Ghasa to Tatopani (1,190 m / 3,904 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 4 to 5 hours A pleasant downhill trek brings us to Tatopani (meaning “hot water”). Here, you can unwind and soak your aching muscles in the natural riverside thermal hot springs.

Day 12: Trek from Tatopani to Ghorepani (2,860 m / 9,383 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 7 to 8 hours Today is an ascending leg through terraced farmland and dense rhododendron and oak forests. Passing through traditional mountain villages like Sikha and Chitre, we reach the ridge top village of Ghorepani.

Day 13: Sunrise Hike to Poon Hill (3,210 m) & Trek to Hile (1,430 m / 4,691 ft)

• Trek Duration: Approx. 6 hours total We wake early for a morning climb to Poon Hill (3,210 m) to capture a sunrise over the Annapurna and Dhaulagiri ranges. After returning to Ghorepani for breakfast, we descend via stone stairways down to Hile.

Day 14: Trek to Nayapul & Drive to Pokhara (822 m / 2,696 ft)

• Trek / Drive Duration: 2 hours trek, 1.5 hours drive We complete the final short leg of our trek to Nayapul, where our private vehicle awaits to transport us to the scenic lakeside city of Pokhara. Spend the afternoon relaxing by Phewa Lake or sightseeing.

Day 15: Pokhara to Kathmandu.

• Travel Time: 35-minute flight OR approx. 6 hours scenic bus drive Enjoy a scenic highway drive along the Trishuli River or opt for a 35-minute flight back to Kathmandu. Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel, with the evening free for souvenir shopping in Thamel.

Day 16: Final Departure / Farewell

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel. A representative from A One Nepal Trek will transfer you to Tribhuvan International Airport (TIA) in time for your flight home.

Safety, Health & Medical Preparedness

At A One Nepal Trek, your safety is our top priority. We implement strict safety measures on every journey:

• First-Aid Provisions: Comprehensive medical kits are carried by our team throughout the trek.
• Accessible Care: Local health posts are located along the route every 2 days, with regional hospitals accessible within 5 hours.
• Emergency Evacuation: In critical situations, we rapidly arrange ground transport, horseback transfer, or emergency helicopter evacuation.
• Pacing: Expect an average of 5 to 6 hours of daily walking carrying only a light daypack (2–5 kg).

Personal Travel Insurance

Comprehensive travel insurance is mandatory for all clients joining our trips.

• Coverage Requirements: Your policy must explicitly cover high-altitude trekking (up to 5,500 m), emergency medical treatment, and emergency helicopter rescue/air ambulance services.
• Policy Note: Insurance must be purchased in your home country prior to arrival; A One Nepal Trek does not sell insurance directly.

Accommodations (Teahouses & Lodges)

• Standard Lodges: All accommodations during the trek are included on a twin-sharing basis in clean, hygienic, tourist-standard teahouses.
• Facilities: Rooms are comfortable and cozy. En-suite private bathrooms are available in select lower-altitude villages for an additional local fee.
• Regulated Quality: Room rates and menu prices across the circuit are regulated by local tourism management committees.

Meals & Clean Drinking Water

• Diverse Menus: Enjoy fresh, high-energy meals ranging from authentic Nepali Dal Bhat and local ethnic dishes to international favorites (Continental, Italian, Indian, and Tibetan).
• Hygiene Standard: Meals are freshly prepared by trained lodge cooks adhering to strict health and sanitation standards.
• Drinking Water: Bottled mineral water is widely available. To minimize plastic waste, we strongly encourage using boiled water, filtered water, or purification tablets with a reusable water bottle is highly recommended.

Packing List Essentials

To ensure a comfortable journey, we recommend packing:

• Footwear: Broken-in waterproof trekking boots and a pair of lightweight sandals/slippers for lodges.
• Clothing: Waterproof Gore-Tex jacket and pants, lightweight rain poncho, moisture-wicking t-shirts, sun hat, and warm layers.
• Gear: Sunscreen (SPF 50+), UV-protection sunglasses, trekking poles, personal medications, and a headlamp.
• Sleeping Gear: A lightweight 4-season sleeping bag (if you do not have one, A One Nepal Trek will provide one for the trek).

Eco-Tourism & Environmental Responsibility

The Annapurna region is a fragile ecosystem. A One Nepal Trek strictly adheres to a Zero-Impact Policy:

• Leave No Trace: We enforce strict environmental guidelines to leave trails and campsites clean.
• Conservation Partner: We work closely with the Kathmandu Environmental Education Project (KEEP) to preserve local habitats and respect indigenous cultures.

Best Time to Trek

While custom treks can be arranged year-round, the optimal seasons for weather and visibility are:

• Spring (February to April): Features vibrant trails lined with blooming rhododendrons, warm weather, and long daylight hours.

• Autumn (September to Mid-December): Offers crystal-clear mountain views, stable weather, and pleasant daytime temperatures.

Kathmandu & Pokhara Hotel Accommodation

• Standard Package: Includes 2-to-3-star tourist-standard hotel accommodation with breakfast (BB Plan) in Kathmandu and Pokhara.
• Upgrades: 4-star or 5-star luxury hotel upgrades are available upon request for an additional fee.

Booking Policy & Guidelines

1. Contact Us: Reach out to our team to finalize your preferred travel dates and itinerary details.
2. Advance Deposit: A 30% advance deposit per group member via bank wire is required to confirm your trip (preferably 3 months before departure).
3. Group Discount: For a group of 12 or more paying travelers, one group leader receives a complimentary service package (excludes government taxes, flights, and park permit fees).

Required Documentation

• Passport Copy: Clear copy of a passport valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel dates.
• Flight & Photos: Flight details and passport-sized photos required in advance to issue your TIMS (Trekker Information Management System) card and ACAP (Annapurna Conservation Area Project) permit.
• Travel Documents: Please print out your agreed itinerary, cost inclusions, and voucher receipts to carry with you upon arrival in Nepal.
