Manaslu Circuit Trek

 Day 01: Kathmandu, 1360m.

You arrive in Kathmandu and our representative will be on standby with our office vehicle to transfer you to your hotel. A pre-trek briefing will be scheduled to discuss the trekking program and coordinate any last-minute arrangements. You can refresh yourself, go for a walk down the street to get familiar with your surroundings before preparing for a tasty dinner of local Nepalese cuisine which you will truly enjoy accompanied by a cultural dance performed by the local belles. Your first overnight in the city of temples, probably the most in the world

Day 02: Katmandu Sightseeing.

Today we explore Kathmandu on an organized sightseeing tour. This will include a visit to the Bodhnath Stupa, one of the biggest Buddhist shrines in the world. We also visit Pashupatinath, located on the banks of the holy Bagmati River and home to the most famous Hindu temple in the country. Here we will see Hindu holy men (sadhus) and pilgrims performing ritual bathing, and occasionally, funeral pyres burning on the ghats. The cremation site here is used by the royal family and also for the simple man living next door. Your early afternoon will be free to relax in the hotel garden or visit Thamel for some curious shopping. You will be supplied with your trek departure information in the afternoon. Day 03: Kathmandu Drive to Arughat Bazar

Our trip takes off after b/fast with a drive from Kathmandu to Pokhara Highway for the first part of the drive; then we turn towards the north from Anbu Khaireni bazaar of Gorkha. The road gets pretty roughshod after Gorkha. We will reach Arughat Bazaar after driving for seven hours from Kathmandu.(Service include:Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+ Local lodge+Drive+Guide+Porter)

Day 04: Arughat Bazaar – Sundhikhola.

On the very first day of hiking on the trail, we head north, following the Buri Gandaki. In the low areas, rice paddy fields and quaint views surround us. After climbing to Kyoropani, we descend once again to the river at the confluence with the tributary of Sundi Khola. It is a nice first day & not too stretching, and perhaps we have time for a refreshing swim during the day as it’s pretty humid in the lower areas of this region.

Day 05: Sundhikhola – Machhakhola

The landscapes change as we go higher, the wide valley narrows and at times the trail cuts into the steep valley which is densely forested. Then we pass a number of small villages tucked into the hillside, until we reach a widening of this valley, on our opposite where a large tributary stream enters the Buri Gandaki. The terraced farmland here belongs to the village of Lapubesi. We descend once again to the wider section, sandy Riverbank, and follow a path, which runs below the steep, craggy valley path. In the end, we have to climb up once again to get to Machhakhola, which has a number of teashops.(Service include:Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+ Local lodge+Guide+Porter)

Day 06: Machhakhola – Jagat.

We cross over Machha Khola and head upstream to the tiny village of Khola Bensi and the hot springs at Tatopani. The whole valley here becomes steeper to the limits till the route cross then switches to the left bank by a suspension bridge. The trekking trail is quite exposed and challenging in some places. After a short section of forest trail, we reach a single teahouse at Doban. Above Doban village, the Buri Gandaki descends with some notable flowing of rapids. Beyond this hard steep section, the River is much more placid, meandering across a wide gravel bank, and from Lauri, we will cross the River crossing a suspension bridge, and then climb on a high trail to the fields of Jagat.(Service include:Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+ Local lodge+Guide+Porter)

Day 07: Jagat – Deng.

After a connection of long descending stone step trails down to the River, we climb a terraced hill path to Saguleri, from where we get to view the tall Singri Himal, 7187m. The trail then splits, with a right-hand route heading towards the Ganesh Himal while crossing the River at Gata Khola. Our trekking route continues upstream, through a marvelous section with towering walls. We cross three more gentle Rivers in the next two hours to avoid the difficult valley and then climb up over a further steep spur to reach the village of Deng where we bunk out for the night.

Day 08: Deng – Ghap.

The valley is still steep but very impressive. We cross the village of Lama from where we start to see Mani stones (prayers etched onto wayside rocks), this is a sure-fire sign that tells us we are entering into high country Buddhist areas. After about four hours of trekking, we reach the village of Ghap, which is located by the River & this heralds our entry into Tibetan territory as we see a change in the climate and culture as well.(Service include:Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+ Local lodge+Giude+Porter)

Day 09: Ghap – Lho Village.

As we gain altitude day after day, we move into the alpine territory but magnificent mountain views. There are more Mani stone walls and 3 more sections to cross over the Buri Gandaki on our route to Namrung, where our special permit is checked. Above this village, the valley opens out and there are massive pasture lands. Climbing gently and crossing a large stream flowing down from the Lidanda Glaciers, we reach the village of Sho, 3000m. We get to see our first incredible views of the Manaslu North & Manaslu towards from Sho. As we continue we get to Lho, a large village at 3150m where there are a lovely little monastery and numerous Chortens and Mani Walls.

Day 10: Lho Village – Sama Gaon.

Today follows the right section of the Riverbank, with views of Peak 29 ahead. As we continue on the main trekking trail, we soon reach the first section of Sama Gaon, 3500m. We reach Sama Gompa, 20 minutes beyond the village called Samdo, near the Tibetan border.(Service include:Breakfast+Lunch+Dinner+ Local lodge+Guide+Porter)

Day 11: Sama Gaon Exploration Day.

Surrounded by mountains in a peaceful forest hideaway, we take an acclimatization day here and explore around and relax. Maybe you can catch up on that book you love so much or even do some washing, if not this then just contemplate on your lovely surroundings. Day 12: Sama Gaon – Larkyala Lodge (Dharmasala)

The thundering Buri Gandaki trickles to a stream as we walk ahead to its upper course which seems to never end; hereabouts we are surrounded by spectacular mountains from all around. Manaslu is particularly impressive after crossing over to the east bank of the River; we reach the last permanent settlement in the valley, which is called Sumdu, after the village, we cross the stream, which runs down from the Gya La (Pass), way to Tibet. We come to the ruins of an abandoned village, known as Larkya Bazaar.

Perhaps, this village must have been a trading point with Tibet lying over the Gya La at some time in the past. The local market seems to have dried up leading to the migration of the settlement near the Larkya Glacier; we reach a lodge at 4450m, which has been built for travelers after they cross over the Larkya La.

Day 13: Larkyala – Tangbuche.

After a short climb above the lodge, we reach the valley on the north ridge of the Larkya Glaciers. There are views of Cho Danda and Larkya Peak. Finally, we walk across the moraines of the glacier, making a gradual ascent, which becomes steeper only in the last section of the pass. From the pass, there are gratifying views of Himlung Himal, Cheo Himal, Kangguru & massive Annapurna II. Initially, there is a steep descent over snow and then screed, to reach the ablation valley trail to Larcia Kharka. A little further on, a ridge near the trail leads to Tengboche at 3900m.

Day 14: Exploring around Tengboche.

The valley system here is large and spread out and well worth exploring around. But if you want you can rest the whole day or do your own things. We bunk out for the night at Tengboche.

Day 15: Karche.

Below us lies Bimthang, a broad and level ablation valley with a number of Mani stone walls and abandoned houses. Crossing this high pasture, we descend the valley of the Burdin Khola to the area of the Base Camp to reach the west side of Manaslu. From a ridge at 4150m, we get great views of Manaslu to the south-east and Annapurna II to the south-west. Beyond a bridge, over the headwaters of the Dudh Khola, we descend into the rhododendron forests and follow a trail through a narrow valley, until we reach the highest tilled land in this valley of Karcher at (2785m).

Day 16: Dharapani.

We climb through terraced fields to the Karche La pass. A green and densely forested valley lies ahead, sloping down to the distant Marshyangdi River. At Thonje village is our final restricted area check post. Here we cross the Marshyangdi River and join the main Annapurna Circuit with loads of trekkers and soon reach Dharapani to rest our bones

Day 17: Jagat.

In the beginning, we come across a tight gorge which briefly opens to Tal. The area here was formed when the valley was blocked by a landslide and a dam formed behind the lake. The lake has long dried up and now the village of Tal sits on the flat land. Over the next day and a half, we pass through the main Himalayan range, between Manaslu and the Annapurna range. The landscapes here are lovely.

Day 18: Drive to Kathmandu.

This is an approximately seven-hour scenic drive to Kathmandu. We lunch out A la carte at a good roadside restaurant.

Day 21: Depart Kathmandu for that special place we call home

Our office support staff will be on standby with a vehicle to take you to the airport for your connecting flight home. On the other hand, if you prefer to stay longer you can go for short tours such as game drives, some go-wild safaris at National parks, or maybe some white water rafting, there are mountain biking thrills or you can even get bolder & cross the border for some fantastic overland tours to Tibet & Bhutan, etc.

The above program is only a guideline pattern which we provide. Trekking on the Manaslu Circuit can also be done for 19 days & can be tailor-made to suit your specific requirements. It’s also vital to note a trekking tour of this type is prone to unpredictable calamities related to mountain weather, local politics, and transportation etc, which will be beyond our control and as a result, this may require a change in your itinerary. However, it is very unlikely that such circumstances may occur but our effort is to minimize its effect, and A One Nepal Treks will not be responsible for any situation developing in delays or changes to your program. In the event of any changes, your senior guide will make the final decision after consulting with the group.

Safety – Health- facility:

Our first goal is “first safety” for all of our clients and staff. We have a smartly experienced friendly and knowledgeable workers team. All they are well trained and must of they are license holder Guides. We arrange first aid. Also, the area has a health post every 2 days, and the main hospital is not farther than the maximum of 5 hrs, from any part. We can use a quick drive on the rough road, carried by the people, take a horse ride, and arrange the Helicopter at our needed as per the emergency encase. The physical walk is 6 hours on average per day with a mini bag with your valued things average 2-5 kg.

Your Personal Travel Insurance:

We highly advised you to make your travel insurance during the Nepal trip from your own country. It is a condition upon joining any of our trips that all clients be insured for comprehensive expenses that might incur due to medical issues or accidents (this includes air ambulance, helicopter rescue, and treatment costs). we don’t arrange or sell insurance.

Teahouse Local lodge during the Trek:

All accommodations for Manaslu Trek are on a tea house/Home-stay twin sharing room basis included in the trip cost and are chosen based on the standard of hygiene, standard and clean of tourist standard available. There are mostly shame styles of accommodations during our trekking. All the lodging and meal costs have been controlled by the management community in the area.

Meals and Water:

During our Trek, we can enjoy typical Nepali food, different ethnic cuisines, as well as all types of international cuisine (Tibetan, Continental, Italian, and Indian.), which are from the menu as per local supplement. Lodge has a well-trained cook basically attention to clean, hygienic, fresh, and nice testy foods. We can even enjoy hot chocolates, a variety of bread, a variety of drinks, and snacks. You could have been able to buy Bottled water from every settlement. Even we would like to support you to pay for local purifying water cheaper with that’s help to controlled plastic pollution. Also, boiled water or running fresh water with your peals or filtering is much recommended.

What to bring with you:

Raincoat, bag cover, round sun hat. Half paint for rain, waterproof walking boot, Suntan lotion, sunglass, light waterproof gore tax set, Down Jacket, Warm trouser, a pair of sleepers, some t-shirt, If you have your private light sleeping bag/If Not we will provide, walking stick, your regular drug and necessary you things.

Environmental sensitive:

The region belongs to “MCAP”[Manaslu conservation area project]. Offers subtropical -subalpine and Alpine, vegetations, and rich of faunas. We are considering a ‘zero impact’ policy on the natural environment and the traditional communities that live in the traveled places. We enforce a number of dos and don’ts. We also work alongside “KEEP” in order to maintain our environmental concerns.

Best Season:

For all seasons. Even Sep to Dec and Feb to May are best.

Permits and Entry fees:

Yes, you need permits for the Manaslu Trek. There is a Restricted Area Permit which is perhaps a little out of date but is to do with the border with China/Tibet being easily accessible from here. Anyhow, this keeps the numbers down.

  Approximately:  Sep to Nov US$35 for first 8 days, Dec to Aug US$25 for first 8 days. Days in Tsum don’t count against your Manaslu permit. But double-check at the time you go!

We Provide 2-3 star hotels as per plan. Advise us of your choice. 5 stars hotels are in Kathmandu: Hyatt Regency, Yak &Yeti, De’l Annapurna, The Everest Hotel, The Malla hotel, and others 4,3, 2,1 stars hotels.

Booking Policy:

Confirm your trip at least two months before, with 35% of the payment and a copy of your passport. One group leader or agent will be free of service charge above 12 of paying the person in a group. (tax, flight, and monuments fee is not free).
