Upper Mustang Trek
The Upper Mustang Trek – 16 Days of blockbuster hiking into the mystique world
‘The Upper Mustang Trek’ into long lost Mustang is one of the best high & wild destinations of Nepal with beauty all around and an excellent environment. This trekking covers all the major regions of mustang and helps get a closer glimpse of the local Tibetan traditions and the Buddhists people. The trekking to Upper Mustang will be the most memorable one not just because of its unmatched natural beauty but also because of the white stucco unique houses and the friendly loyal people of the area which leaves us a long lasting impression that will emotionally stay with us for years to come…
Though this district is known as the desert of Nepal because of the very less rainfall it receives around the year, but the beautiful landscapes, the Rocky eroded canyons and the snow crowned mountains will attract us towards it throughout the journey, just like it attracted traders for salt trading between Tibet to Nepal for centuries gone by. We could also view the 400 years old human hands hanging there which some thieves came to steal and then their hands were cut and is shown to people till date. Though there is not any particular time for visiting this area as it falls within the rain shadow region in the north, but visiting Upper Mustang can be best enjoyed between September to April. A One Nepal Treks is a seasoned operator in these parts of Nepal & can best manage these treks around the year for any backpacker looking for the mystical part of the wild Himalayas.
The trekking kick starts with a thrilling flight to Jomsom from Pokhara over the mountains and then takes the route of lovely well known villages like Kagbeni, Syangbochen, Ghami, Tsarang and Lo Mangthang viewing and enjoying the beautiful surroundings of nature which includes a visit to the holy temple ‘Mukinath’, making it more special and auspicious. The trek begins and ends at Jomsom. ‘The Upper Mustang Trek’ is one trip you sure want to do with A One Nepal Trek in your discovery of the unknown from the known…
